WHO ARE WE?

We’re a coalition of community organizations, transit riders, disability activists, senior citizens and bicyclists from Buffalo to Bay Ridge fighting for cleaner, healthier, and more affordable ways to get around. Buses and trains move millions of riders each day in New York’s 62 counties, employing thousands of workers and bolstering the economy of both urban and rural economies.  Accessible trains, buses, walking and bicycling routes build vibrant and inclusive communities and afford us freedom of access to basic needs without relying on a car.

We are committed to changing  the “norm” and setting new transportation goals that will not only connect and improve our neighborhoods but protect the air we breathe, the water we drink and the land we call home for generations to come.

Together, we can create a state where all New Yorkers can get where they need to go.

WATCH US IN ACTION!

In May, transit riders and grassroots organizations from across New York gathered at the State Capitol in Albany to call on Governor Kathy Hochul and legislators to invest in projects that give people more freedom to get around New York's rural areas, suburbs, and cities and pass the Get Around New York bill (A4120/S1981), tackling transportation emissions by reducing vehicle miles traveled (VMT) per capita within the state by 20% by the year 2050.
